Utah

Every time we come home from Utah I think to myself “now why don’t I want to live here again?”  That is a whole nuther post.

(Did you know nuther is not a word.) (I think the word to use instead is other.)

AND back on track…

I don’t think I fully appreciated everything Utah-and by Utah, I mean the Provo to Salt Lake City area- has to offer when I lived there. Shame on me. Here’s my list of things I really like about Utah.

039

My family lives there. Did I mention how much I like my family? Now I do anyways. When I was younger I probably didn’t appreciate them very much. Now that I’m old (close to death) I appreciate them a lot more. Also, have I mentioned that I hate being the shortest one in my family. How come everyone got the 6’ genes except for me?

055 Oh, how we miss the Mountains. I love how every Mountain along the Wasatch Mountain Range is different. Someone told me once their friend told them (that their uncles cousins grandpa….) that living in Mountains makes her claustrophobic. I think it’s the exact opposite, Mountains create possibilities for space. And yes, I do capitalize Mountains.

Good food! Man, Utah has good food…especially fresh produce. It tastes so much better there! Also- BAJIOS. Also- BURGER SUPREME. My mouth is drooling on my keyboard. Really, I just had to do that little “slurp the spit back in” trick.

Final Count:

Bajios: 3 chicken lime ensaladas with spicy ranch dressing and extra sweet corn.

Burger Supreme: 3 number 12’s –Gyro (With extra cucumber sauce), french fries (With extra fry sauce. The only fry sauce I will eat), and a DP (Yes, they do sell DP!).

Utah grass + beautiful evening weather= a very happy, very naked baby. Why. Why do we live in Houston?

056

There are temples everywhere! We got to do sealing's in the Provo temple- which is where we were sealed. This was the first time we’ve been back. I love the Provo temple, it’s my favorite.

255 The flowers. Okay, there are flowers everywhere and I enjoy them no matter where we are, I just wanted to post this funny picture of Cambry. She’s so dramatic. I have no idea where she gets it from…probably her dad.

257

Just another example of the D-R-A-M-A…

Also, I always get my hair done in Utah- it’s cheap there!(relatively)

307 There’s a ton of things to do in Utah. With so many colleges there are always activities going on. Usually for cheap. Usually aimed at families. Usually close. (Seriously, I can’t believe how close everything is!) This is the Hoogle Zoo carousel. Cambry was super excited to ride the “kitty” although she is displaying more of a heat induced coma in this photo. A peach smoothie perked her right up.

As a side note- this picture represents what Cambry is going to be for Halloween. A “kitty”, not a peach smoothie. A sparkly “kitty” at that!

AND back on track…

Those are some things I like about Utah (along with a few others, such as good radio stations, more health food store options, and my mom taking care of me). And those are the reasons our visits are always so fun.

T minus Two Weeks

It is a special birthday. I'll be a quarter of a century old. That's close to a century. That means I'll probably die soon. A gift from my wish list would probably keep my mind off that. No really, it's just a random list of things I love (this week).

Clean and bright silver. From here

Delicate pearl (love this!). From here.

For when the floods come up. From here.

Quirky fabric. From here.

I love birds! From here.

My very favorite print. From anyplace I can find it.

To start decorating my bedroom (finally). From here.

And, a few yards of fabric to reupholster my thrifted chair. Still undecided, some sort of yellow maybe? What do you think?

Wow. I want a lot of things. Maybe I should just ask for what my mom always asked for. A clean house and a head massage.

UPDATE: Duh... I forgot these.

These are on my list every year but Jim always says no. Something about 'causing bodily harm to myself and others'. Pfft, I think he just doesn't want me to be happy.

See the Missionary Glow?

Uncle Micah is officially in training to become a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Houston, Texas mission. I used to call him Apeface and try to throw him out with the trash. He used to bug me and purposely get me in trouble. We don't do that any more, we kind of grew on each other.

We're in Utah to say our 'I love you's', eat yummy gyros, have our hair cut, and run in the grass barefoot- all the things we save for our Utah visits. Unfortunately Jim had to work and could only come for the weekend. (My photoshop skills astound me.)

Be back soon.

P.S. I spent my entire teenage years wishing to be 4 inches shorter and now I wish I were 4 inches taller...
